Tara

Have made a minor update to the Tara page, mainly I've expanded the notes on the mantra. I also made a minor adjustment to the calligraphy for the White Tara mantra which was missing a diacritic.

Avalokiteshvara Mantra

I've fixed up the Avalokiteshvara pagea bit. There was a slight error in the calligraphy; I've added links to some books, although I haven't had time to include any material from Alexander Studholme's The Origins of Oṃ Maṇipadme hūṃ : a study of the Kāraṇḍavyūha Sūtra; and I've added a pic of a little Mani stone that I got recently, and a pic of the Ranjana script version of the mantra from the cover of Studholmes book. It's quite different from mine, and probably more authorative - my calligraphy was worked out from the Omniglot page on Ranjana.

If anyone is wondering I'm not doing much calligraphy lately due to a bout of RSI.

ARAPACANA

Over on my blog Jayarava Rave I've published a short article about the mantra of Manjusri and why syllables are considered to have a magical power. In such a short space it is difficult to do more than introduce a few ideas, but hopefully it will spark something off if you have an interest in that mantra.
